You have seen the rage of people converting to doing their groceries online during the pandemic. They say it’s safer, which is true. Helps save the environment, it reduces the cost of grocery shopping in general. But is it all true? Is doing your grocery shopping online really live up to the hype? Well, let’s talking about the disadvantages of grocery home delivery in Malaysia, so that you can decide.
Delivery service charges pile up.
This! This is probably the prime con everyone goes to when it comes to grocery delivery. There is a cost to those aspects to you know. It’s not included in your discounted shopping cart. But, this is a trade-in you have to make so that you can get the convenience online shopping serves you. And sometimes even with adding in that charge, it’s actually going to be more economical than what it would have cost you to walk, not drive, into the store.
It’s costlier than you think.
Hah, you would think that it isn’t, but! Aside from the delivery/service charges, some grocery delivery goods are just outright higher than if you buy them in-store. I think everyone knows that grocery shopping might just devour your entire salary if you are lack self-control.
And depending on your position, some grocery delivery rates sway higher online than in the store. So just be on high alert, be diligent, and try to match prices when you are shopping for groceries online.
You can’t pick your own produce.
That might sound weird at first, and it really depends if you trust where you are buying from, or what kind of shopper you are.. but remember how many times you examine the tomatoes or oranges before you choose the one you fancy. You are giving them the examination for bumps, bruises, and/or rotten bits. Or possibly you just have really precise preferences and need to make sure your mangoes only have a hint of green at the top. There is just something about being capable of seeing the good you are buying with your own two eyes. For whatever the reason is, sometimes… it’s just more satisfying if you are the one screening through the products section and not someone you don’t even know.
You Might End Up With Things You Don’t Want
Sometimes, some grocery markets are just not well stocked and run they also some times just out of items be it toilet paper, sanitizing wipes, hand sanitizer… So when you are physically in the store, shopping in person, you can settle for yourself what you will get instead, and the alternative will still serve you what you need. But when you’re online shopping, You CAN always request substitutes if the item you want is not available, but that doesn’t mean that your request is going to be fulfilled. You probably might end up buying something you would never buy.
So, after reading this article, you still think getting your groceries online is worth it?
